I appreciated how easy it was to access the beautiful old town and the lovely riverside parks from this hotel, and the complimentary transportation pass made exploring the city even more enjoyable.

The bright, cheerful lobby with cherry red chairs made me feel instantly welcomed, perfect for seniors. Its easy accessibility to the tram and train stations made exploring Basel both delightful and stress-free for my group.

A Perfect Stay in Basel!

From the moment we arrived, the attentive staff made us feel special, accommodating early check-in and late check-out. The free mini bar was a refreshing bonus! With public transport just steps away, exploring the old town felt effortless. The organic breakfast was delightful. Our dogs were pampered too! Can't wait to return!

We really enjoyed our spacious GORGEOUS Junior Suite, where the kids had their own space to play while we could relax upstairs. The eco-friendly initiatives were impressive, and the breakfast selection was delightful, providing a great start to our day exploring Basel.

My kids wished there was a pool for them to splash around in after a long day of sightseeing.

Unfortunately, my stay was marred by several inconveniences. The room had a cramped feel, not quite what I'd expect for a hotel at this level. Additionally, there was persistent noise from the renovation work outside, making it hard to relax during daylight hours. Breakfast options remained limited, and the lack of immediate attention to clearing dirty dishes from our table was a minor annoyance. Overall, it felt more like a decent three-star experience squeezed into a four-star price tag.

However, the group room we stayed in lacked some comfort and had minor maintenance issues that needed attention, which detracted from the overall experience.

We appreciated the friendly staff who were always ready to assist us, especially with the kids. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety of high-quality options for everyone to enjoy.

The Gaia Hotel boasts a friendly staff and a great breakfast. The free mini bar was a nice touch. Its location near the train station makes it super convenient, though the air conditioning could’ve been better positioned as it got a bit stuffy at times.
